Explore a social conversation at your own pace.
Practise everyday conversations at your own pace with an AI partner: a greeting, a question or an invitation, and how to take any answer gracefully.
Start as small as you like.
One suggested order, from a simple hello to planning a first meet-up. Start anywhere, repeat anything and stop whenever you like.
-
Say hello
Hello, your name and one simple question. Then you end the chat yourself.
-
Keep a chat going
Ask, respond and share something back, even when the answers are short.
-
Make the call you've been putting off
A table for two, a routine appointment, a faulty lamp.
-
Say no, briefly
To a sales call, a big night out or a fundraiser who asks twice. No reason needed.
-
Get back in touch
Ring an old friend after a long gap, or ask about a beginners' group.
-
Raise something at home
One issue, one request and one agreed next step with a flatmate or neighbour.
-
Ask for a coffee
One clear invitation, said out loud.
-
Take any answer
A no, a maybe, and a no from someone you'll keep seeing.
-
Have a first call
Introduce yourself, break a pause and keep your street and surname private.
-
Plan a first meet-up
A public place, your own way there and back, and changing plans directly.
Any answer completes the level.
In the coffee-invitation course you ask three people. Each answer is fixed in advance, so it says nothing about you.
A yes
Mia, from your running groupYou ask about Saturday afternoon and agree a time.
Completes the levelNot this week
Jordan, a colleagueJordan suggests next week instead. You accept and agree a day.
Completes the levelA kind no

What you can practise
Choose a small practice goal
Try a greeting, a question or an invitation using made-up details. Stop whenever you like.
The calls you put off
Book a table, ring the surgery for a routine appointment or return a faulty item. Every fact is supplied, so all you need to do is speak.
Boundaries, said kindly
Practise suggesting a public place when someone invites you round, and keeping your street and surname private on a first call.
Respect a clear answer
Practise accepting a refusal and ending politely, a skill worth having in every conversation.
- Anyone nervous about dating or meeting people
- Getting back out there after a long time
- Building everyday social confidence
- Practising consent-positive, respectful dating
What it is
- Private practice with a patient AI partner, at your own pace.
- Made-up details throughout. You never need to share anything real.
- Yours to pause, repeat or stop whenever you like.
What it isn't
- Graded. There is no AI grading on these courses: finishing the conversation is the goal.
- A score for you. Nothing measures attraction, personality or tone of voice.
- Therapy. If anxiety is affecting your daily life, your GP or NHS Talking Therapies can help, and Samaritans are free on 116 123.
- A substitute for your own judgement when you meet someone in real life.
After every practice call
After each practice call, a call analysis shows your pace, talk share and questions, with specific tips for next time. It comes at no extra charge.
Patient listening
Everyday-enquiry and speech-confidence exercises keep patient listening. Interruption practice stays Off for those exercises, including workspace copies.
Your ready-made course
Each exercise shows its estimate before you start. There is no AI grading: finishing each conversation completes the level. Certificates record course completion, not professional accreditation.
Everyday enquiries: practise at your own pace
3 levelsThree everyday fictional calls to ask a question, clarify information and choose an option. Repeat or stop whenever you wish. Completion records participation in these exercises; this route does not include automatic AI grading. This is practice, not therapy or a clinical service.
- Easy Ask the library hours

- Hard Ask for another option
